Content Creation Philosophy
Informational Content should use the simplest form that still conveys all the information.
Use only text when possible.
Add pictures only if it's helpful, pictures are only sometimes worth a thousand words.
Video and audio are either for background information (i.e. hearing a language and seeing culture, customs, and places) or for incorporating a story or entertainment.
Stories are to convey emotions and to connect.
Weave in stories where possible, but sometimes keeping a story separate from the information is the right thing to do. Don't overload informational content with the story as those who are trying to get things done aren't the same as those that are exploring and learning.
Entertainment is where cutting edge multimedia tends to shine.
These three are not mutually exclusive and the best content is able to effectively put all three aspects together. This could mean an informational page, a storytelling post, and an entertaining video, or it could be an informational, storytelling, and entertaining video.
Content should always be informing, storytelling, entertaining, or a combination of the three.
